About Crazy Herb

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Herb Fried, born in 1949, graduated from the University of Miami in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. He tried several paths including graduate school in Atmospheric Science and a year of teaching science and math at North Miami Beach Senior High School before obtaining his law degree at the University of Florida in 1975. He has practiced law since 1976 in Lee County, Florida.

He has served as  president of both the Lee County Personal Injury Association and the Southwest Florida Trial Lawyers Association.  He along with his wife are attorneys in their law firm, Fried and Fried, P.A. and raised three sons, Benjamin, Nathan and Jeremy. 

For several years Herb was on the Board of Temple Judea, a conservative synagogue. He was twice United Jewish Appeal chairman for Lee County in the late 1970’s, and was for May 2006 through May 2008 the President of the Jewish Federation of Lee and Charlotte Counties.

Herb was also an accomplished Hebrew school teacher, where he refined the teaching system that is now used in his book Crazy Herb’s Hebrew Words. His entertaining method helped his students enjoy his classes and actually remember what was being taught.
